All absences from school must be covered by a written note, signed by a parent or guardian or by a phone call. The school operates a phone line for absences – refer Reporting Absences. See also – Extended Leave.
If your child is sick and needs to be taken home or has been involved in an accident requiring treatment outside the school, we will contact you or your emergency contact – please ensure your details are kept up to date.
After School Care
Three Kings School has a before and after school care programme for children run by Kelly Club, an independent franchise organisation providing out of school care in our school hall. For further information visit www.kellyclub.co.nz.
Whole school assemblies take place fortnightly on Thursday afternoons in the hall, and whanau members are welcome to attend. Syndicates meet on alternate weeks for assemblies.
Regular attendance is most important for your child’s learning and development. School begins at 8.50am.
Children must be collected by 3.00pm. There is no staff supervision after this time. Children left late will be sent to the Karma Kids programme for supervision and an invoice will be issued.
Bible in School
Bible in Schools is held each Wednesday from March until November between 9.00 and 9.30am. This opportunity is optional for students. Please indicate on your child’s enrolment form your preference. If you do not wish your child to take part you can keep your child at home and bring them to school by 9.30am or children be supervised in the school library.
Please ensure your children arrive at school between 8.30am and 8.50am. School Patrols monitor the intersection at Mt Eden Road and Mt Albert Road between 8.30am and 8.50am, and 3.00pm and 3.15pm.

Contacting your child
To contact your child for emergency reasons please get in touch with the office. (Arrangements to play with friends after school must be arranged from home!)
Students are not to leave the school grounds without permission during school hours. If they are leaving school early, the parent/caregiver must report to the office to sign their child out and collect an Early Collection Card. This card needs to be handed to the class teacher when they collect their child from the classroom.
An extended leave form should be completed if your child will be away from school during term time for holidays or overseas trips. The form must be filed with the office and approved by the Principal.
We participate in the “Fonterra Milk for Schools” programme. If you choose for your child to participate, they will receive a pack of Anchor Lite UHT milk each Friday. For more information about the programme, go to www.fonterramilkforschools.com
We have a great range of fiction and non-fiction books available for students to borrow. Your child will spend time at the school library with their class each week. The library is open at lunchtimes from Monday – Thursday.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent / teacher meetings are held twice a year, and bookings can be made through the School Interviews system.
Parking / Traffic Safety
Parking is not available in the school grounds. Please discuss any special circumstances with the school office.
We have some busy roads surrounding our school. The Mt Albert Road and Mt Eden intersection and the pedestrian crossing on St Andrews Road are monitored by trained teachers, parents and students between 8.30 – 8.45am and 3.00 – 3.15pm each school day. Please encourage your children to cross at the intersection during the patrolled times for their safety.
Uniform items are available from the Royal Oak Warehouse. Our regulation items are any combination of: red polar fleece, red polar fleece vest, red or white polo shirt (short or long sleeved) embroidered with the school logo. Navy shorts, track pants, sports shorts, skorts, skirts or culottes. Regulation sun hat for terms 1 & 4.
All stationery requirements are available at school. We sell stationery in efficient, cost effective packs at the beginning of each year. Payments can be made via the website
We are fortunate to have a heated school pool, and weekly lessons take place all year round. Please name your child’s swimming togs and towels. If your child is to be excused from swimming due to sickness or injury, please send a note to your classroom teacher.
It is important that visitors register at the office.
Walking School Bus
Walking school buses are a free, healthy and a fun way to travel to and from school. Why not sign your child up today? Parents fill in a consent form (available from the route coordinator), children sign a pledge to follow the walking school bus rules and that’s it! Children love it and it’s a great way to make friends too!
Our parent volunteers do a fabulous job of running our walking school bus. We can always do with another route and more help! If you sign your child up, we would require your help at least one morning per week. If you have just 45 minutes one morning or afternoon each week and would like to start up your own walking school bus, we’d love to hear from you.
WSB Expression of Interest Forms are available here or at the school office.
