All children love running around and laughing. Sport and Physical Education at Three Kings is about encouraging both things!
Every child at Three Kings enjoys the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of sporting and fitness activities. Our aim is to allow children to have fun experiencing as many different sports as possible, as well as developing key movement skills and healthy habits.
In conjunction with the Sport Auckland Kiwisport program, each syndicate participates in learning the skills of several different sports throughout the year.
Koru Syndicate (Year 0-2) begins with programmes promoting key movement skills and in the Porohita (Year 3-4) and Toki (Year 5-6) Syndicates these are developed further in more sport-specific sessions. With exposure to a range of sports, it is hoped students will continue to enjoy some of these sports by joining clubs within and/or outside school.
Three Kings is privileged to have a heated swimming pool. Students take part in class swimming once a week all year round. Many go on to take lessons through Ross Millar Swim School which operates from the school pool.
School-wide sports days for Cross Country and athletics as well as Swimming for the Kauri Syndicate are spread throughout the school year.
Three Kings Senior School students also have a chance to trial for various Zone Sports Teams. If successful, they will proudly represent the school in one-off Sports Days and potentially also in Auckland-wide competitions.
